Easy + budget friendly Valentine crafts

I am all about crafts with my kids but I also know as a busy mama I don’t want to spend all of my energy and time stressing out about the supplies, messes or prep. Any other mamas feel me?

What if I told you it was possible to create those photo worthy memories without the stress or mess? I’ve compiled a short and sweet (budget friendly too) list of our all time favorites! Enjoy and be sure to let me know what you think in the comments.

1. DIY Crayons

You guys!! My mama did these with us growing up and they are still a forever favorite in our home.

First, have your kids gather all of the old and broken crayons into a big bucket! Tip + trick is to soak the crayons into a bowl of hot water to easily remove those wrappers. All of this keeps them busy but also promotes those fine motor skills so it’s a win win for everyone!

Preheat your oven to 250 F and pop the crayons into any muffin tin or silicone mold for 15-25 minutes or until fully melted. Remove them carefully and allow them to cool/harden.

I use this pink silicone mold in the shape of a heart to make them a bit more festive but you can use anything you have!

Viola! Valentine crayons for the win and easy class hand outs too!

2. Scroll sticker art

This one is perfect for even the smallest littles and definitely mess free. I use the brown scroll paper because we have it on hand + my kids seem to enjoy it the most. Place it on a flat surface (we prefer the ground where they can spread out/lay down) hand them a tub full of themed stickers and watch the art work come to life. This one is one we do for most holidays and I am continuously amazed at how fun and busy it keeps everyone.

3. Decorating valentine cookies! You can buy prepackaged sugar cookies or make them yourself then let your kids go to town with icing and sprinkles! Less is more except when it comes to sprinkles!!

Tip + Trick Icing in a squeeze container is less messy and if you have a space outdoors this one can always be done outside too! The best part? They can eat them after which is always a sweet treat.

Whatever you mamas decide to do for valentines just know they will remember the experience and your presence above all things. Play some music, have a dance party in the living room, munch on those cookies (forget about the crumbs) and embrace the chaos!
